Update 3:10 pm Pacific with commentary from Airbnb and Automation Everywhere.
Influential German designer Erik Spiekermann just noticed something interesting in the new Airbnb logo.
In some ways, this curvy letter A resembles the A logo of an 11-year-old computer automation company called Automation anywhere.
Spiekermann tweeted about his sighting and elicited many comments.
Airbnb and Automation Anywhere sent this joint statement to VentureBeat:
In early 2014, Airbnb and Automation Anywhere started using new logos which coincidentally have similar designs. Airbnb and Automation Anywhere are working together to resolve this issue, and Automation Anywhere is in the process of switching to a new logo that is not similar to the Airbnb logo.
The company today unveiled a whole new look, reflecting its plans to grow and add services.
